Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to learn technical requirements of the job.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Must travel as required and meet age/background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Asset Protection Department in shrink reduction activities.
• Develop knowledge of the criminal justice system and related laws.
• Maintain relationships with local police and court systems.
• Complete and maintain accurate reports and files.
• Maintain store averages for shoplifting apprehensions and deters.
• Detect, apprehend and deter shoplifters per company guidelines and laws.
• Be proficient in CCTV and asset protection technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of investigations.
• Assist in training new Asset Protection Coordinators.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Meet the physical requirements of the position.
• New York State: obtain/maintain a NY Security License; license assistance provided.
