Job summary

Irving Tissue in the United States is seeking an Asset Leader to oversee manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost and people objectives. Reporting to the Converting Manager, you will coordinate maintenance, lead cross-functional teams, and drive site initiatives for operational excellence.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred; 5+ years in an operations leadership role in a CPG processing facility; strong coaching, communication and technical skills; this is 100%

• Strong technical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills & comfortable presenting to senior level audiences.

• Advanced systems aptitude and Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor measurement systems to ensure consistency between crews and communicate KPIs to the crews.
• Coordinate maintenance and operational resources on a daily basis and for scheduled “down days”.
• Develop a climate which encourages participation and continuous improvement; coach, develop & mentor Process Techs and Process Engineers.
• Lead Manufacturing teams, Maintenance teams, Process Engineers, Process Techs & Suppliers to evaluate and recommend upgrades and design improvements.
• Support Value Stream Manager and other site leaders in determining and directing long-range plans, objectives, and activities.

Reporting to the Converting Manager, the Asset Leader is ultimately responsible for ensuring assets are adequately maintained with necessary tools, materials, and supplies needed foroperation. This position will proactively coordinate and lead the manufacturing operations to ensure the achievement of department objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost,& People.

1. Monitor measurement systems to ensure consistency between crews and assist in communicating Key Performance Indicators to the crews.Ensure systems are developed, monitored, and sustained to deliver and improve operationalexcellence. Develop and drive implementation of site initiatives to support multi-year sitevision
2. Coordinate maintenance and operational resources on a daily basis and for scheduled “down days”
3. Develop a climate which encourages the participation and involvement of all employees to pursue continuous development and continuousimprovement. Coach, develop & mentor Process Techs and ProcessEngineers. Support capability development and provide feedback for operatingteams
4. Lead Manufacturing teams, Maintenance teams, Process Engineers, Process Techs & Suppliers to evaluate and recommend upgrades and designimprovements. Lead teams through trouble-shooting exercises leading to process stability andimprovement
5. Support Value Stream Manager and other site leaders in determining and directing long-range plans, objectives, and activities

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred
5+ years in an operations leadership role in a Consumer Packaged Goods processing facility
Strong coaching & mentoring skills with experience in leading change
Strong technical abilities
Excellent communication skills & comfortable in presenting to senior level audiences
Ability to influence with and without authority
Advanced systems aptitude and excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
