Irving Tissue is hiring Converting and Logistics Operators in Macon, GA. The role focuses on safe operation of high-speed equipment, maintaining quality, and collaborating with maintenance and process teams to optimize production. Shift work, including nights and weekends, is required.

• Operate and optimize high speed equipment in coordination with Maintenance and Process Support.
• Perform product and grade changeovers per schedule.
• Input measurements into computer systems and monitor performance.
• Respond to defects or machine alarms to uphold standards.
• Handle and feed raw materials to maintain production.
• Perform general housekeeping to support safety and quality.

• Wage range of $ 22.518 – 23.774 /hour depending on experience, qualifications and professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operations of our equipment and the safety of our people
• Maintain the high quality standards of our products and address quality items with a high sense of urgency
• Work with team of employees to operate and optimize high speed equipment and technology, including collaboration with Maintenance and Process Support staff
• Perform product and grade changeovers based on the planned schedule
• Maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and/or adjust equipment and technology to maximize performance, as well as input measurements into computer systems
• Respond to any defects or issues with the machine, i.e., lights, alarms and visual indicators to ensure conformance to company standards
• Handle and feed a variety of raw materials into machinery and equipment in an effort to maintain production
• Perform general housekeeping duties in an effort support safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work with computers
• Must be able to perform shift work on rotation which includes nights and weekends
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and as a team member
• High degree of attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Must be organized and have demonstrated the ability to multi-task
