Job summary

Irving Tissue is seeking a results-oriented engineer-in-training for an onsite role. You will drive design and process improvements, gather and analyze data, and perform statistical studies to support operational reviews.

You will collaborate with Operations and Engineering to implement systems and quality enhancements across the site. You will contribute to safety initiatives, maintain production quality, and engage in continual improvement efforts, all while following established safety

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Chemical or Pulp & Paper Engineering program.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Coursework in relevant chemical engineering subjects is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful design, process improvement and optimization projects.
• Gather, investigate and analyze data for team problem-solving.
• Conduct statistical studies for operation review and decision making.
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to implement improvements.
• Contribute to Safety, Quality, Production, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Plan, implement and monitor ongoing product quality assessments.
• Follow site safety practices at all times.

Responsibilities

• Lead meaningful projects in design, process improvement, and optimization
• Participate in team problem‑solving by gathering, investigating, and analyzing data
• Conduct statistical studies for operation review
• Work with Operations and Engineering Departments to implement and improve systems, processes, and quality
• Contribute to site initiatives in Safety, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement
• Plan, implement and perform continuous assessment of product quality
• Follow site safe practices at all times

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Engineering Degree: Chemical, and/or Pulp & Paper Science
• Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• The following engineering courses are applicable: Fluid Mechanics, Process Control, Heat and Mass Transfer, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, and Statistics
