Job summary

LUMA Energy in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is seeking a technical professional to execute routine activities and support more complex deliverables within a multi-disciplinary team. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and quality in utility operations.

The position requires a BS in a technical field (ABET-accredited) with at least two years of applicable experience. Travel up to 30% and overnight stays are expected to support projects.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor/Manager this position is responsible for executing routine technical activities and coordinating and supporting more complex technical deliverables. The role requires technical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and excellent teamwork skills to be successful.

• Provides technical assistance in support of others.
• Applies technical knowledge to help promote a safe work environment and to enhance customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

• Assist and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring technical skills.

• Supports projects within scope, schedule, and cost.
• Supports review of functional specifications for completeness and consider practical limitations.
• Collaborates with design activities as a member of a multi-disciplinary technical team.
• Supports with basic work planning, budgeting and cost estimating.
• Supports development and updating single line diagrams, and design drawings, and equipment specifications. Supports material procurement.
• Supports QA/QC process.
• Provides technical support to field and construction groups.
• Assist with and improvement processes and standards.
• Collaborates with reporting, including presentations to work groups and management.
• Position may be required to work extended hours including major storm restoration work and associated drills as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• BS in a technical field from ABET-accredited college.
• Two years of applicable experience or a combination of education and applicable experience. Master’s degree counts as one year.
