Job summary

Town of Gilbert is seeking an Asset Management Specialist to verify GIS, LUCITY, and infrastructure records against real-world conditions. You will investigate discrepancies, review capital projects for conflicts, and conduct GPS field verifications to ensure accurate asset locations.

You will support SOP development and provide backup for the Water Distribution Supervisor, working across departments to keep projects on schedule. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years reading record drawings/as-builts.
• 3+ years as a Senior M.O. Technician or lead with underground infrastructure.
• 3+ years CMMS experience.
• ADEQ Water Distribution Grade 3 and/or Wastewater Collections Grade 3 or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain Unmanned Part 107 Drone License within 1 year of hire.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Asset Management Specialist.

The Asset Management Specialist reports to the Utility Locates Supervisor. The primary functions of this position include:

• Verifying and correcting the accuracy of GIS, LUCITY, and infrastructure records against real-world field conditions
• Investigating and resolving discrepancies between mapped records, drawings, and what's actually installed in the field
• Reviewing Capital Improvement Project and Developmental Services plans, providing feedback to catch conflicts before they cause delays
• Conducting field verification using GPS technology to confirm the identification and location of Town infrastructure
• Supporting the Utility Locates Supervisor by helping develop standard operating procedures, and stepping in as backup for the Water Distribution Supervisor when needed

About You

You're the kind of person who notices when something doesn't add up — a drawing that doesn't match what's actually in the ground, a work order that's missing a detail nobody else caught. You move comfortably between a GIS dashboard and a job site, translating what you find in the field back into the systems everyone else relies on. You know your way around underground utility infrastructure and aren't afraid to speak up when a construction plan needs a second look before it moves forward. You also work well across departments, tracking down the right people and documentation to keep projects on schedule and avoid costly rework.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 3 years of experience reading record drawings/as-builts
• 3 years of experience as a Senior M.O. Technician or lead working with various types of underground infrastructure
• 3 years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• ADEQ certification: Water Distribution Grade 3, Wastewater Collections Grade 3, or an equivalent combination (Water Distribution 2/Wastewater Collections 1, or Water Distribution 1/Wastewater Collections 2)
• Ability to obtain an Unmanned Part 107 Drone License within one year of hire
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities

This position has been designated as a Medium work position that spends a majority of their workday in a field environment, with exposure to mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and traffic conditions.
