Job summary

Northern Trust offers a ten-week internship in Chicago, designed to develop early career skills in a dynamic global financial services environment. You will work with a team on day-to-day tasks, with mentorship and enterprise-wide learning experiences to build a foundation in asset management operations.

You will gain exposure to financial markets, participate in development workshops, and network with senior leaders and fellow interns to plan a long-term career path within Northern Trust.

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE

You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university with an expected graduate date between December 2027 and Summer 2028. You have a minimum GPA of 3.0. You have an interest in and are curious to learn more about financial markets and asset management operations. You have proven analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills through course work, projects, and/or previous internship experience. You have demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects and extracurricular involvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an intern at Northern Trust, you will have the opportunity to build relevant skills, work on meaningful projects, and participate in a collaborative program designed to support your early career development. You will work directly with your team on day‑to‑day tasks while joining internship program events to develop new skills, network with senior leaders, and connect with fellow interns in the program. Through hands‑on experience, meaningful project work, and exposure to a dynamic global business, you will begin to see how your interests can grow into a long‑term career at Northern Trust. A recruiter will work with you to determine the best team placement given your interests, skill set, and relevant experience.

THE PROGRAM

Ten weeks. Located in Chicago, IL.

Salary Range

Salary is $30.00 USD per hour. Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
