Job summary

Northern Trust offers an internship program designed to develop early-career professionals in a collaborative, global financial services environment. You will work with a team on daily tasks and participate in program events to build essential skills and professional networks.

The program includes professional development workshops, Lunch & Learns with Leadership Interns, cross-functional projects, volunteer and social events, and ongoing enterprise-wide learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Curious about financial markets and financial services industry.
• Proven analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, critical and strategic thinking skills through coursework or internship.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork through projects and extracurricular involvement.

WHO YOU ARE

You are pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028
You have a minimum GPA of 3.0
You are curious about financial markets and interested in learning more about the financial services industry
You have proven analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving, critical and strategic thinking skills through course work and/ or previous internship experience

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an intern at Northern Trust, you will have the opportunity to build relevant skills, work on meaningful projects, and participate in a collaborative program designed to support your early career development. You will work directly with your team on day-to-day tasks while joining internship program events to develop new skills, network with senior leaders, and connect with fellow interns in the program. Through hands‑on experience, meaningful project work, and exposure to a dynamic global business, you will begin to see how your interests can grow into a long‑term career at Northern Trust. A recruiter will work with you to determine the best team placement given your interests, skill set, and relevant experience.

• Develop an understanding of credit products and lending practices
• Participate in credit analysis and underwriting
• Provide banking services to Wealth Management and Corporate and Institutional clients

SAMPLE FUTURE CAREER PATHS/TRACKS:

Credit Analyst in a variety of areas including National Credit Services - Underwriting, Credit Portfolio Management, Banking Services, and more as part of our Analyst Development Program (ADP).

Salary Range: Salary is $30.00 USD per hour. Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
