Position Summary
We are seeking an Asset Management Associate to support the performance and execution of a growing multifamily and affordable housing investment portfolio. This role will work closely with senior asset management, acquisitions, finance, and property management teams to help drive operational performance, monitor business plans, analyze portfolio results, and support strategic decision-making across stabilized and value-add assets.
The ideal candidate is analytically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced investment environment with both market-rate and affordable housing assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day asset management activities across a multifamily and affordable housing portfolio
- Track portfolio and property-level performance against budgets, underwriting, and business plans
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, including variance analysis and KPI tracking
- Assist with property-level financial analysis, operating reviews, and cash flow forecasting
- Monitor leasing, occupancy, rent collections, expenses, and capital project execution
- Coordinate with property management teams to identify operational issues and recommend corrective actions
- Assist with annual budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning
- Support loan compliance, investor reporting, and lender deliverables as needed
- Analyze rent growth, expense trends, capital needs, and market conditions
- Help evaluate value-add strategies, refinance opportunities, recapitalizations, and disposition scenarios
- Maintain portfolio files, dashboards, and internal reporting tools
- Partner with acquisitions and finance teams on asset-level assumptions and performance updates
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in asset management, acquisitions, real estate finance, property management, or investment analysis
- Experience with multifamily real estate preferred; affordable housing experience a plus
- Strong financial modeling, Excel, and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret operating statements, budgets, and rent rolls
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with affordable housing programs, including LIHTC or other regulated housing structures
- Familiarity with investor reporting, debt compliance, and partnership structures
- Working knowledge of Yardi, MRI, or similar property management systems
- Experience supporting value-add or transitional business plans
