Overview

Elizabeth Property Group is a fast-growing affordable housing owner, operator, and developer. The company made its first affordable housing acquisition in 2021 and now has ~2,700 units under ownership as well as a pipeline to scale the business significantly and at a rapid pace. We are looking for an Asset Manager to support our growing Texas portfolio. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to work hard, learn every day, and participate in the growth and fun of a young, thriving business.

This position is ideal for someone located in DFW, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio metros. Some travel is required (mostly within Texas).

Position Summary

The Asset Manager will oversee the performance of a portfolio of affordable multifamily communities. This role is responsible for monitoring financial, operational, and compliance outcomes to ensure each property meets its investment objectives and regulatory obligations. The Asset Manager will partner closely with property management and ownership to drive results, identify risks, and create long-term value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance of assigned assets (budget vs. actuals, occupancy, collections, expenses, cash flow, distributions).
  • Work with third-party property management to drive leasing, collections, and resident retention strategies.
  • Oversee annual operating budgets, reforecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Identify underperforming assets and create action plans for operational and financial improvements.
  • Provide ownership with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages, including variance analysis and portfolio summaries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with property managers, lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • 5-15+ years of experience in multifamily asset management, affordable housing, or related real estate role.
  • Experience in LIHTC, HUD, and affordable housing compliance is a strong plus but not a requirement.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable performing financial analysis.
  • Understanding of basic finance and accounting principles.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders – institutional investors, governmental entities, nonprofits, and property management professionals.
  • Detail-oriented in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
  • Resourceful with strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn about the niche within the real estate investment/development industry.
  • Desire to grow with the company.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience (base + bonus). There will be an opportunity to meaningfully participate in the business’s growth and upside over time.
