Job summary

ITS Logistics in Reno, NV is seeking an Asset Maintenance Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of Class 8 assets, focusing on trailer utilization, maintenance, compliance, and cost control.

You will partner with operations, maintenance, vendors, and customers to keep equipment available, maximize uptime, and drive total cost of ownership reductions while ensuring FMCSA/DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fleet management, asset management, trucking operations, or related fields.
• Experience managing Class 8 equipment or dry van trailers is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations for trailers and CMVs.
• Experience with fleet management, TMS, GPS or telematics platforms such as Samsara/Omnitracs/McLeod.
• Experience managing vendors, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating with maintenance providers.
• Experience with fleet procurement, leasing, equipment disposal, or capital planning.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the asset lifecycle from specification and acquisition to in-service utilization and final disposition.
• Monitor fleet size, utilization, availability, and teardown ratios to size the trailer pool for freight demand.
• Develop trailer replacement and CAPEX plans; evaluate lease-vs-buy and new-vs-used options.
• Coordinate disposal, auction, trade-ins to maximize asset residual value.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance; manage licensing, permits, inspections, and records.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, vendors, OEMs, and customers to optimize performance.
