Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an entry-level data specialist to ensure real-time accuracy of critical TFS data. You will coordinate with field teams, gather data, and enter data while applying entry-level technical skills to analyze data for accuracy and completeness.

You will support asset entry lifecycle, IPS data updates, and reporting via PowerBI, with limited supervision and opportunity to develop QA processes across asset attributes and commissioning checklists.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of data/record management experience; or an associate’s degree in electrical/electronic/civil/mechanical engineering technology or related fields.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Visio and Outlook and data entry. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform project print review at the beginning of a capital project to examine all relevant prints and gather information about Transmission assets.
• Review drawings with field changes to understand changes and document in IPS asset management database.
• Coordinate elements of print management, monitor DS Track, follow up on overdue records.
• Assist in creating location hierarchy, adding new capital assets, and populating asset attributes into IPS.
• Support asset-level management of IPS data by updating asset attributes and testing documentation.
• Perform quality assurance of Transmission Field Services data by routine checks of asset attribute data and corrections.
• Assist in coordinating the configuration and release of substation Capital Commissioning Checklists for specific jobs.
• Develop process improvements and documentation regarding Capital Commissioning Checklist creation and initial IPS data entry.
