Qualifications

  • Current state RN license in Ohio is required.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • CPR certification and ability to meet state licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receives inquiry calls and assists scheduling face‑to‑face, phone, or tele‑assessment.
  • Assesses or ensures evaluation by a licensed mental health professional.
  • Performs comprehensive assessment and provides therapeutic care for substance abuse or psychiatric needs.
  • Coordinates with clinical team to meet patient needs at the facility or community providers.
  • Administers nursing care and related duties as part of the care team.

Full-time, Night Shift

This is a full‑time night shift position that may require flexible hours and overtime.

How You'll Contribute
  • Receives inquiry calls and assists the caller with scheduling a face‑to‑face, phone, or tele‑assessment, triaging individuals based on safety risk.
  • Assesses or ensures assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients who present for assessment. Screens for medical and behavioral emergency conditions.
  • Performs a comprehensive assessment and quality therapeutic care to patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric or emotional disorders; coordinates with the clinical team/on‑call physician to ensure these needs are met at the facility or other appropriate community providers.
  • Interprets treatment to patients and family to help reduce fear and other attitudes obstructing acceptance of care and continuation of treatment.
  • Administers nursing care to ill or injured persons by assisting in caring for patients by giving direct care.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state RN license in Ohio and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR certification.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Ability to sit and stand (one‑third of the shift) and walk (two‑thirds of the shift).
