Job Responsibilities
  1. Assess or ensure assessment by a qualified mental health professional of patients presenting for evaluation.
  2. Screen for medical and behavioral emergencies.
  3. Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide quality therapeutic care for patients seeking treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric/emotional disorders; coordinate with the clinical team or on-call physician to meet these needs either at the facility or through community providers.
  4. Interpret treatment plans to patients and families to reduce fear and facilitate acceptance and continuation of care.
  5. Handle inquiry calls and assist callers with scheduling face-to-face assessments or referrals to appropriate community resources.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling required; RN licensure may be accepted depending on state regulations.
  • Current unencumbered clinical social work or counseling license; RN license may be acceptable.
  • Valid driver’s license, good Motor Vehicle Report, and proof of insurance if using personal vehicle.
  • Proficiency in typing and keyboard use.
  • CPR and CPI certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience in psychiatric healthcare with adult and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills required.
