Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) operates many hospitals nationwide. BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, CA seeks a friendly Receptionist to greet visitors and manage the hospital's multi-line phone system.

You will provide clerical support and assist with mail processing, helping ensure smooth patient flow in a behavioral health setting offering inpatient and outpatient services. Required education: high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of switchboard experience preferred;

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a health care environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Flexibility to work holidays and some unofficial holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist visitors, ensure visitors sign log and obtain passes.
• Answer and route calls on the switchboard within three rings.
• Use the paging system to announce callers as required.
• Collate admission folders on every shift.
• Look up patient numbers in the MS4 system and distribute facesheets to doctors.

BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in the beautiful city of Rosemead, California. Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.

The Receptionist is responsible for handling a multi-line telephone switchboard and greeting and assisting all visitors. In addition, provides clerical support as requested and processing incoming and outgoing mail.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Follow the facility guest regulations program when greeting and assisting all visitors, ensuring all visitors sign the visitors log and obtain a visitor pass.
2. Answer and disseminate all incoming calls on the switchboard in a professional and courteous manner within three rings.
3. Utilize the paging system to announce callers as required.
4. Collate admission folders on every shift.
5. Look-up patient numbers on the MS4 system; print and distribute facesheets to appropriate doctors.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years experience on a multi-line telephone switchboard, preferably in a health care environment and any combination of education, training, or experience in a hospital environment.

Additional Requirements: May be required to occasional overtime and flexible hours. Required to work holidays and some unofficial holidays.
