Job summary

Caterpillar in Decatur, IL is hiring Production Assemblers for our Assembly & Test operations on 2nd shift. In this full-time role, you will assemble, test, and prepare heavy equipment components in a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Starting pay is $23.22 per hour with a $1.00 shift premium, 40 hours per week with overtime, and benefits from day one. Ideal candidates have 2 years of manufacturing experience, can work at heights, and work well in teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly.
• Able to work 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:00 PM).
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong teamwork and commitment to safety.
• Knowledge of 5S workplace organization.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test, rework, and repair heavy machinery components and assemblies.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex components to repair or replace parts.
• Operate test equipment and remote-controlled cranes.
• Prepare completed products and attachments for shipment.
• Use hand tools and pneumatic tools to complete tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area following 5S.
