Job summary

Oilgear is hiring for an entry-level Assembly/Test Technician in Fremont, NE. You will perform basic assembly or test operations on hydraulic components under supervision while learning company standards for production, quality, and safety.

You will cross-train to develop skills in both assembly and test, work from complex drawings, verify tolerances with precision instruments, and document results in required systems. This role emphasizes safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic assembly or test tasks under close supervision while building proficiency.
  • Assemble, fit, align, and adjust hydraulic components and final assemblies to meet engineering performance specifications.
  • Set up and operate test stand equipment independently for pressure and functional testing.
  • Work from complex assembly drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring and gauging instruments to verify tolerances and product quality.
  • Diagnose defects and malfunctions and take corrective action or elevate appropriately.
  • Accurately document inspection results, test data, and production records in required systems.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper material handling and documentation.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to assembly and test methods, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
  • Actively participate in cross-training to develop skills in both assembly and test.
  • Follow all safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.

Position Overview

Entry-level position responsible for performing basic assembly or test operations on hydraulic components and sub-assemblies under close supervision, while learning company standards for production, quality, and safety. Proficient in one discipline (assembly or test) and actively cross-training on the other side as part of a structured development path toward becoming fully cross-trained.
