Job summary

Westmor Industries, LLC is seeking an Assembly Technician in Hugo, MN to perform diverse assembly tasks from blueprint reading to final test runs. You will work with mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and piping systems, ensuring quality and safety on a fast-paced shop floor.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings.
• Read and interpret 1/8", 1/16", and 1/32" measurements accurately.
• Convert feet to inches and vice versa for layouts.
• Identify and select correct hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving in a dynamic shop.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and responsive to changes in process.

Responsibilities

• Assemble equipment before and after painting per work orders and drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles.
• Use shop paperwork, work orders and schematics to complete assembly.
• Install mechanical components, sub-assemblies and piping systems.
• Update paperwork reflecting changes and required documentation.
• Operate equipment safely including ironworker, band saw, drills and torches.
• Follow safe lifting procedures for overhead cranes and operate the forklift.
• Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

An Assembly Technician is responsible for completing the following tasks:

• Perform all necessary assembly routines before and after equipment has been painted
• Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles
• Use shop paperwork, work orders, and schematics to complete machine assembly
• Install mechanical components, purchased parts, and sub-assemblies, including drivelines, motors, pumps, valves, and piping systems
• Update paperwork to reflect any changes and required documentation
• Operate equipment safely - ironworker, small band saw, drill presses, jancey drills, cutting torch, and other equipment, as required
• Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for overhead cranes
• Operate forklift according to safe operation procedures, including acquisition and maintenance of training certificate
• Test-run completed equipment prior to shipment
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
