Process Insights, Inc. in Horsham, PA is seeking an Assembly Technician to perform both mechanical and electronic assembly for laser-based gas analyzers and related equipment.

Based in the Philadelphia metro area, you will join the Operations team to assemble, test, and prepare instruments for shipment, interacting with Engineering, Production, and Aftermarket groups. Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related technical field or 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly with excellent manual dexterity.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, electronics assembly, and precision component handling.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, method sheets, and BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components for gas analyzers and related equipment with precision.
  • Solder lasers, circuit boards, and other sensitive electronic parts as required.
  • Pull and prepare parts based on drawings, diagrams, and job specs.
  • Finalize and prepare analyzers for shipment ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Operate and maintain test equipment (oscilloscopes, DVMs, wavemeters).
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues in collaboration with engineers and scientists.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts.

We currently have an opening for an Assembly Technician, for our Ultra High Purity (UHP) Unit. This individual is responsible for performing both mechanical and electronic assembly tasks to support the production of laser-based gas analyzers and related equipment. This position is based in Horsham, PA (Philadelphia metro area), reporting to the Assembly Lead Technician with a focus on assembling, testing, and preparing high-precision analytical instruments for shipment.

This is an Operations departmentposition that will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Aftermarket Teams.

This role plays a critical part in driving our vision to partner with our customers to become their preferred process analytical solutions provider.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical components for gas analyzers and related equipment with precision and attention to detail.
  • Solder lasers, circuit boards, and other sensitive electronic parts as required.
  • Pull and prepare parts and materials based on drawings, diagrams, method sheets, and job specifications.
  • Finalize and prepare analyzers and supporting equipment for shipment while verifying all requirements.
  • Operate and maintain electro/optical test equipment (oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, wavemeters, etc.).
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical and electronics-related assembly issues in collaboration with engineers and scientists.
  • Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy.
  • Efficiently shift between tasks depending on production and delivery requirements.
  • Support production activities as needed to meet product delivery schedules.
  • Apply PI values to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Operational excellence, communication, service- minded, innovation, integrity, collaboration.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures, actively identifying potential hazards, and promoting a culture of safety among the team.

Qualifying Attributes and Skills:
  • Associate’s degree in a related technical field (Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology) OR 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly with excellent manual dexterity.
  • Hands-on experience with soldering, electronics assembly, and precision component handling.
  • Ability to use electro/optical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and wavemeters.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, method sheets, and BOMs.
  • Experience handling or routing fiber optic cables preferred.
  • Must be able to regularly push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds as part of routine assembly and production activities.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality workmanship.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills; able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team, with a willingness to assist beyond assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and have initiative to follow through on commitments with team and management.
