Position Overview

The Electromechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing precisionelectromechanical components used in scientific instrumentation. This role involves working with mechanicalassemblies, electrical wiring, and optical or electronic components while following engineering drawings,schematics, and assembly documentation.The position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively withengineers and technicians to produce high-quality instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble electromechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and components according to engineering drawings,schematics, and work instructions.
  • Install and connect wiring, cables, connectors, and electronic components within instrument housings andassemblies.
  • Position, align, modify, and fasten parts and components using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fitand functionality.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and assembly instructions to determine materials andassembly procedures.
  • Inspect completed assemblies and components for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications andtolerances.
  • Use measurement tools and test equipment to verify proper alignment, electrical connections, and systemfunctionality.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving minor mechanical or electrical issues discovered during assembly ortesting.
  • Maintain accurate assembly documentation and report issues or improvement opportunities to engineering staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following company safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to efficient manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related manufacturing rolespreferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience using hand tools, soldering equipment, and basic electrical test equipment such as multimeters.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail when assembling precision components.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a small team environment.
Work Environment
  • This is a fully on-site position located in State College, PA.
  • Work is performed in a laboratory and light manufacturing environment.
  • The role involves working with precision components and specialized equipment.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $40,000 – $50,000 annually, depending on experience.
