Job summary

JBT Marel in Eastlake, OH is seeking an Assembly Technician as part of an apprenticeship program. You will assemble mechanical parts, read blueprints, and perform quality checks while using forklifts and hoists. Expect on-site work with travel on short notice and a pathway to the Field Service department after completion.

Compliance with safety programs and active participation in the program are required to develop skills and advance within the company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Willingness to participate in a structured apprenticeship program.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts using hand tools and equipment.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints to assemble machines to specifications.
• Perform quality work checks and document defects.
• Operate in-house equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hoists.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas and equipment.
• Clock in/out using E10; travel on short notice as part of the apprenticeship.
• After apprenticeship, transfer to Field Service department.

As our Assembly Technician

– you will report to the Bevcorp Operations Manager.

On a given day, you may:

• Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts and pieces using a variety of hand tools and equipment.

• Complete safety programs within JBT expectations (BBSO’s, Near Misses, etc.) to include exceeding goals.

• Read and interpret basic blueprints for assembling machines to proper specifications.

• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets standards and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.

• Perform all work following quality standards.

• Use in-house mechanical equipment such as forklift, overhead cranes, and hoists.

• Maintain work areas and equipment, tools and machines in a safe, neat and orderly condition.

• Clock in and out of job/rework/project/builds by use of E10,

• Operate bead blast/power wash/paint booths.

• Perform all work following quality standards and established safety procedures.

• Travel on short notice as part of the apprenticeship program.

• Diagnose problems, dismantle machines, replace defective parts and reassemble machines.

• Set up and adjust machines to equipment specifications.

• Keep training jacket updated daily with on-the-job training details and level signoffs.

• Perform all tasks with required safety equipment and comply with all safety regulations and company policies.

• After completion of apprenticeship program, team member will be transferred to the Field Service department.

Requirements for the role

• Great attendance is a requirement.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Lift/carry 50-75 pounds.

• Work with mathematical concepts.

• Balance a quality level of maintenance while staying on a timeline.

• Work collaboratively within a small team environment.

Travel & Location

• You will be fully onsite at our Eastlake facility.
