Job summary

JBT Marel seeks a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you'll assemble industry-leading food processing equipment using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.

You will read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, perform testing, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet quality and production goals. Join a global leader focused on safety, quality, and growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Previous manufacturing and/or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to view drawings and work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Welding experience is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with industrial controls, VFDs, servo motors, cameras, or laser scanners is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on food processing equipment.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, work instructions, and bills of materials.
• Perform equipment testing and troubleshooting to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measurement tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts (training provided), and other shop equipment as needed.
• Complete work within established labor standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Inspect your work for quality and make adjustments as needed to ensure equipment meets specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and fellow team members to meet production goals.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Push and move carts and materials.
• Work from ladders or elevated platforms when needed.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, overhead cranes, forklifts, varying temperatures, and industrial noise.
