Responsibilities

  • Identify and report defects or equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Keep work areas clean and 5S compliant.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material handling as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.

About The Role

We are a manufacturer of precision elastomer and plastic seals serving oil & gas, mining, and water distribution markets, specializing in small-series production across 8,000+ SKUs annually. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assembly Technician I to join our manufacturing team. The Assembly Technician I is responsible for assembling components and products according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions while maintaining quality and safety standards. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, are mechanically inclined, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble products, components, and subassemblies according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices to perform assembly operations.
  • Inspect components and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify and report defects, discrepancies, or equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, work orders, and assembly instructions.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S standards.
  • Assist with inventory counts, material handling, and production support activities as needed.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the work shift.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for assembly tasks.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Experience
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or production experience.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
