Job summary

Openwork is seeking a detail-oriented Kitting & Assembly Material Handler in Cartersville, GA. You will read travelers, assemble components, and support inventory control in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read blueprints, proficiency with hand tools, and experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office. We offer a full-time schedule, first shift hours, and competitive pay with PPE provided on-site.

Job description

Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a detail-oriented Kitting & Assembly Material Handler in Cartersville, GA. In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for building assemblies from blueprints, executing precise kitting processes, and supporting inventory control inside a modern manufacturing facility.

In a Kitting & Assembly Material Handler job you’ll be responsible for:

• Reading job travelers, work orders, and blueprints to identify parts and verify significant components.
• Assembling components using basic hand tools (e.g., drills, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers).
• Measuring components and materials accurately using a tape measure and the decimal system.
• Performing precise math and inventory calculations for kitting processes and weight measurements.
• Utilizing ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and Google Workspace to track materials and document tasks.
• Operating safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

What you’ll need:

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and written job instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic computer systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, or ERP tools).
• Strong math skills, including comfort with decimal system calculations and weight measurements.
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods, lifting up to 25–50 lbs as needed.
• Excellent communication, high attention to detail, and a strong sense of teamwork.
