Job summary

Dorner Manufacturing, a Columbus McKinnon Organization, seeks a Lead in the Stands & Drives department to improve accuracy, efficiency, and 5S standards. The role emphasizes training, collaboration with engineering, and maintaining production quality in a climate of continuous growth.

As a lead, you will coach team members, ensure on-time delivery, and contribute to a safe, efficient work environment in a US-based facility.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret schematics.
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem solving required.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multitask effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Conveyor assemblies in a product line.
• Participate in daily Gemba board discussions and rotate tasks.
• Collaborate with Supervisor, Production Manager and cells to meet on-time delivery goals.
• Act as primary trainer for new employees within the Stands and Drives department.
• Identify areas for improvement and training needs for team members.
• Work closely with engineering to optimize processes.
• Establish daily and weekly 5S schedule for all Stands and Drives members.
• Work safely to keep the team incident-free; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary/Overview

This role will act as a lead in the Stands & Drives department to improve accuracy, quality, prioritization of work, and 5S standards as require

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work alongside teammates to perform Conveyor assemblies in a product line.
• Maintain rotation of tasks within the department and participate in daily Gemba board discussions.
• Work alongside Supervisor and Production Manager and individual cells to meet on time delivery goals.
• Act as primary trainer for new employees within the Stands and Drives department.
• Identify areas for improvement and training needed for individuals within the Stands and Drives department.
• Work closely with engineering.
• Establish daily and weekly 5S schedule for all Stands and Drives team members to participate in as required.
• Work in a safe manner to keep you and your team incident free.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
• Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.

Required Qualifications

• Lead and/or supervisorial experience or the willingness to obtain via training or coursework.
• Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent) required.

Compensation

Additional $2.50/hour team lead premium.
