Summary

Assembly Supervisor – responsible for ensuring quality products are produced safely and effectively per the applicable schedules. The position will start in Oxnard, CA and relocate to Henderson, NV in 2027.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Access and understand daily and weekly schedules.
  • Read and follow work instructions displayed electronically (iPad).
  • Use required gauges correctly.
  • Identify potential problems and troubleshoot them.
  • Assist in training employees within the department.
  • Certify employees to operations.
  • Perform departmental audits to ensure work instruction (WI) integrity and Bill of Materials (BOM) integrity.
  • Ensure assemblers perform operations correctly.
  • Conduct group meetings.
  • Logically think through problems to make sound decisions.
  • Coordinate production to ensure adherence to the Master Schedule.
  • Ensure all employees work in a safe manner and report damage to a supervisor or manager.
  • Provide input to design engineers for ease of assembly for new and existing products.
Employee Conduct
  • Follow instructions, procedures, and escalation procedures for workflow, quality, etc.
  • Exhibit honesty, integrity, and adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 26 to 50 employees; responsible for training, planning, assigning, directing work, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ability to identify and properly use correct hand tools.
  • Understand threads, fasteners, and use of torque wrenches.
  • Understand Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Perform all processes in the area being supervised.
  • Understand departmental performance measures and apply data to improve performance.
  • Display leadership qualities to keep employees working effectively.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise many different processes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired qualifications:

  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish.

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus 1–3 months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred major: Other

Minimum years of experience: 10+ years

Language Skills

Must read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations in English; write analytical and technical reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and create instructional reference material; speak effectively before groups, customers, employees, or the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Compute discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume; apply arithmetic, algebra, and geometry concepts.

Reasoning Ability

Define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in various forms; manage abstract and concrete variables.
