Job summary

Job Title

Assembly Operator I

Summary

A successful Assembly Operator I can safely and with advanced efficiency assemble products that meet all quality requirements. This position is an hourly, non-exempt position and reports to the Production Planner Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Tear down and clean customer RMA’s.
  • Use the parts list and retrieve all the parts needed to assemble the order.
  • Depending on the size and weight of the item to be assembled, use a proper lifting method.
  • Continually inspect products and processes throughout assembly.
  • Inspect and test the final assembly to ensure it meets specifications.
  • Cross-train with other assembler team members.
  • Adhere to specific procedures and production schedules to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent certification.

  • Basic knowledge of products.
  • Basic record keeping abilities.Ability to communicate with and work closely with others, including scheduling, quality, and production control.
  • Minimal troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to inspect work and meet quality expectations.
  • Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas, a lean thinker.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
