Job summary

Kohler Energy is seeking an Operator for our Assembly & Sub-Assembly lines in Mississippi. You will perform semi-skilled manufacturing tasks, rotate between jobs, and maintain quality and safety standards. You will verify part accuracy, meet cycle times, and keep workstations organized while supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of industrial manufacturing experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned production equipment and perform semi-skilled manufacturing tasks.

  • Verify part accuracy and meet cycle time requirements.
  • Support quality verification activities and report defects or concerns.
  • Take direction from team leads and other supervisors, and assist in training new associates when required.

Job description

The Operator performs semi-skilled manufacturing activities in a safe, quality-focused, and productive manner. This position operates production equipment, supports manufacturing processes, performs quality verification activities, maintains workplace organization and housekeeping standards, and utilizes various tools and equipment to support business objectives. Responsibilities may vary by assigned department (Assembly/Sub-Assembly, Machining, or Facilities), but all Operators are expected to support safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement objectives while adhering to company values and compliance requirements.

Primary Responsibilities for Assembly & Sub-Assembly Operators
  • Perform medium repetitious assembly work
  • Rotate between jobs up to two times per shift
  • Maintain proficiency in assembly line functions and processes
  • Verify part accuracy to specifications
  • Consistently meet cycle time requirements
  • Maintain workstation housekeeping, tool protection, gauge protection, and part stockage
  • Notify leadership or quality personnel of defective parts, units, tools, or processes
  • Take direction from Team Leads, Group Lead, and Techs
  • Key contacts include: Quality Inspectors, Maintenance, Engineers and other Operators
General Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all plant safety requirements
  • Follow proper PPE requirements and safety procedures
  • Practice Stop, Call, Wait Authority when necessary
  • Ensure applicable product and environmental compliance requirements are upheld
  • Maintain workplace organization, storage practices and cleanliness
  • Perform housekeeping and 5S activities
  • Protect tools, gauges, equipment, and materials
Operations
  • Report to assigned work area by shift startup time
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions
  • Read and understand process documentation and process aids
  • Operate assigned equipment and tools safely and effectively
  • Meet productivity and operational performance expectations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Quality
  • Follow all quality procedures and work instructions
  • Verify product conformance to specifications
  • Report abnormalities, defects, or equipment concerns
  • Maintain quality standards within assigned processes
Teamwork
  • Demonstrate behaviors aligned with company values and maintain a respectful workplace environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Communicate operational concerns and process issues
  • Assist in training new associates when required

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
