Job summary

MS Metal Solutions in Grand Haven Charter Township, Michigan, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our shipping-focused manufacturing team. You will assemble products, package items for shipment, label and organize pallets, and verify accuracy and quality to ensure on-time order fulfillment.

You’ll work with a team to meet daily production goals, follow safety protocols, maintain clean work areas, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to read and follow packing instructions and work orders.

  • Assemble products and parts according to work orders, ensuring quality standards.
  • Prepare items for shipping by securely packaging parts, labeling items, and organizing pallets.
  • Operate packaging and assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Verify product accuracy, quantity, and quality before packing for shipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, materials used, and product inventory.
  • Identify and communicate issues with inventory, materials, or equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

We are looking to add to our assembly team. This role will be responsible for assembling, packing, and preparing products for shipment, ensuring they meet quality and packaging standards contributing to an efficient shipping process that ensures customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment.

What You'll Do
  • Assemble products and parts according to work orders, ensuring quality standards.
  • Prepare items for shipping by securely packaging parts, labeling items, and organizing pallets.
  • Operate packaging and assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Verify product accuracy, quantity, and quality before packing for shipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, materials used, and product inventory.
  • Identify and communicate issues with inventory, materials, or equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience in shipping, assembly, or a related field is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to read and follow packing instructions and work orders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues with assembly or packaging.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
