Job summary

HEM Paving Equipment in Grundy Center, IA is hiring for a full-time mechanical assembler focusing on hydraulic and metal assemblies. You will assemble, test, and verify hydraulic hoses and fittings, lift heavy components, and work in a 100% inside factory setting with a small, cross-trained team.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to run hydraulic hoses and attach fittings.
• Test and verify connections.
• Lift 50+ lbs as needed.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Blueprint reading skills required.
• Dependable, reliable, detail oriented, good communication and listening skills.
• Manual dexterity for fittings and bolts.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hydraulic and mechanical components for concrete paving equipment.
• Test and verify hose connections and fittings.
• Operate forklift as needed and move parts within the shop.
• Assist with quality checks and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.

WE ARE A SMALL SHOP, EVERYONE IS CROSS TRAINED AS NEEDED. WORKING CONDITIONS ARE 100% INSIDE THE FACTORY. HEM IS A MANUFACTURER OF A FULL LINE OF CONCRETE PAYING EQUIPMENT. THIS JOB RELATES TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE RELATED MACHINES.

JOB IS FULL TIME - 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM, MONDAY - FRIDAY AND SOME SATURDAY MORNINGS.
