Job summary

MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville NC is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and use measuring tools to verify tolerances.

The role requires safety compliance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and teamwork in a hands-on factory setting. Eligible candidates should pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening; ESOP and 401k benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience preferred.
• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public.
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds.
• Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Completes preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines; follows diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacturers' instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; uses hoists, cranes and hand and power tools; examines form and texture of parts.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
• Maintains safety and clean working environment by following procedures, rules and regulations.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders and verifying receipt.

Requirements
