Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, in Decatur, AL is hiring a Production Operator to join our line and build quality appliances. You will operate on the line, perform repetitive assembly, use powered tools, and ensure safety and quality while averaging $20–$21.50 per hour, with a $1.50 shift differential on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must understand verbal and written instructions in English.
• Be willing to work overtime during weekdays and weekends with advance notice; pass background check, drug screening, and health questionnaire.
• Ability to stand constantly and handle parts for assembly; reach, push/pull, grasp, and perform fine motor tasks.
• Must be able to lift 42 lbs, carry 42 lbs, and push/pull 35 lbs.
• Work around hot and/or wet parts/equipment and in a loud environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate on the line interacting and cooperating with team members to complete tasks on models moving along the line.
• Perform repetitive line assembly operations to assemble product per specs.
• Utilize a wide range of powered tools to assemble, check, adjust or repair appliances.
• Drive screws and fasteners; apply tape, insulation, or other materials; wire harness assembly and termination.
• Inspect work to verify quality and conformance to specs; complete 5S daily requirements.
