Shur-Co LLC is seeking an assembler to produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies on the 2nd shift in a manufacturing setting in Michigan. The role requires reading work orders, using hand and power tools, and maintaining organized stock areas.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components by following supervisor instructions and drawings.
  • Stock materials, parts, and sub-assemblies in proper locations and keep areas safe and organized.
  • Operate forklift and basic mechanical/electrical hand tools as required.
  • Inspect completed assemblies for quality and proper packaging.

Shift: 2nd ShiftSchedule: 3:00pm-11:00 PMJob Summary:Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies.Assembly I – Entry LevelResponsibilities:Ability to work with hands for long periods of timeDisplays proficiency in manual nonpowered hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as measuring tape.Shows ability to accurately count items, understand unit of measuresBe able to determine condition of toolMust be able to properly stock material, parts, and sub-assemblies in their proper location protected from harmCan read and understand work orders, sales orders, and drawings.Notify supervisor of issues or shortages.Properly stack and secure parts to pallets or racks and more them safely with a forklift.Properly assembly and package per instruction.Displays proficiency in hand tools (electric, pneumatic, wrenches, screwdrivers, electric tools, rivet guns, grinders, impact tools, air tools, plasma, angle squares, gauge meter, pressure gauges, etc.)Assemble items as instructed by Supervisor. Must have hand tool competency, ability to complete 1 of the following: Wire Stripping and cutting, Thermo form plastic injections molding, electronic assembly w/testing, kit building of fastener assemblies via auto-baggerAssembly II – Skilled LevelResponsibilities:Must meet all level 1 requirementsMust have hand tool competency, ability to complete 2 of the following: Wire Stripping and cutting, thermo form plastic injections molding, electronic assembly w/testing, kit building of fastener assemblies via auto-baggerMust have hand tool competency, safely operate and become certified in both forklift and scissor liftsAssembly III – Advanced LevelResponsibilities:Must meet all level 1 requirementsMust meet all level 2 requirementsMust have hand tool competency, ability to complete 4 of the following: Wire Stripping and cutting, Thermo form plastic injections molding, electronic assembly w/testing, kit building of fastener assemblies via auto-baggerComfortable giving direction and or leading Peers.Shows interest in learning additional skills.Shows good decision-making skills without supervision.Great people skillsAssembly – Lead PositionResponsibilities:Must meet all level 1 requirementsMust meet all level 2 requirementsMust meet all level 3 requirementsExhibits strong potential for advancement into a leadership role within the company.
