Job summary

Briggs & Stratton in Georgia is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep the Singles Assembly line running at peak performance. You will set up production machines, monitor processes, and troubleshoot to maintain quality and throughput.

Daily tasks include maintaining plant utilities, performing preventive maintenance, and occasional on‑the‑spot machining. You will work with operators and engineers, using SPC to identify drift and implement adjustments. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1.5 years of technical experience applying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Comfort using computers for diagnostics, documentation, and SPC.
  • Forklift certification required and ability to operate a forklift safely.
  • Fluent in English and the primary language used in your area or location.

Responsibilities

  • Set up a variety of production machines to meet quality and throughput targets.
  • Maintain plant structures and utilities (electrical, heating, plumbing) and support hydraulic systems across multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair production equipment; perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Use statistical process charting, interpretation, and trend analysis to identify drift and make process or equipment adjustments that bring parts back into specification.
  • Conduct machining/bench operations to alter or repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and guarding.
  • Operate a forklift as needed and collaborate closely with operators and engineers to prioritize work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About The Role

Step into a hands‑on role where you keep our Singles Assembly line running at its best. Your day starts with equipment setups that enable quality production, followed by cycles of monitoring, analyzing, and fine‑tuning processes. You’ll move from station to station, applying mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic know‑how to troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and complete on‑the‑spot machining or bench work when tooling needs attention.

A Day in the Life
  • Set up a variety of production machines to meet quality and throughput targets.
  • Maintain plant structures and utilities (electrical, heating, plumbing) and support hydraulic systems across multiple pieces of equipment.

What You Bring

Physical and Environmental Realities
  • May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and materials of various sizes and weights: frequently 5–25 pounds; occasionally 25–75 pounds; rarely greater than 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8–12 hours).
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8–12 hours).
  • Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8–12 hours).
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8–12 hours).
  • Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8–12 hours).
