Overview
This position is a hands-on job focusing on repair and maintenance of varying types of equipment, production automation, and facilities support equipment. As a Technician you will perform troubleshooting and repair on a variety of machines and building systems. Other tasks include fabrication and assembly of mechanical components to repair, modify, or improve production processes and increase machine up-time. At times you will work closely with the Engineering Department to implement improvement projects and train on in-depth repairs / overhauls. You will be responsible for following all OSHA and EPA regulations in the performance of daily tasks and to inform management of any potential safety hazards or violations.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of CNC equipment, production automation systems, and facilities support equipment, including sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, CNC controls, and more.
- Diagnose and repair various building systems such as 3-phase electrical, air compressors, pumps, cooling towers, HVAC, and industrial lighting.
- Fabricate and assemble mechanical components to repair, modify, or improve production equipment and processes.
- Modify and improve production processes to increase machine uptime and overall efficiency.
- Work closely with the Engineering Department to implement improvement projects, upgrades, and process enhancements.
- Assist with training on complex repairs and overhauls, supporting skill development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations during all repair and maintenance activities.
- Identify, report, and address potential safety hazards or violations, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Contribute to the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime.
- Support ongoing efforts for continuous improvement to optimize machine performance and production processes.
Position Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Basic Microsoft Office.
- Certificates & Licenses: Valid Driver’s License.
- Other Requirements:
- Measurement skills; safety, quality, and efficiency standards adherence.
- Self-starter and self-motivated with ability to perform at a high level.
- Willingness to train newly hired employees on technical aspects when needed.
- Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills (pneumatics, hydraulics, linear motion).
- Strong electrical and electronics background preferred (PLC, servo amplifiers, frequency drives, sensors, HMI, 3-phase power).
- Excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to operate boom lifts, forklifts, hand trucks, and other motorized equipment as needed.
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced, target-driven manufacturing environment.
- Experience in welding, manual lathe, and milling machine is a plus.
- Experience/knowledge using LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out).
- Willingness to work outside of schedule, including weekends and holidays as required.
Physical Demands
