Job summary

RetroGamingNow in the United States is seeking an editor for its premier Minecraft ARG/Mystery channel. You will rough-assemble raw footage into a basic timeline, maintaining pacing and mood to amplify the story.

This role primarily covers assembly work, with occasional advanced editing on nonfiction projects like the Minecraft Iceberg series. A paid test edit will be provided for finalists.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of projects in mystery or doc editing

About the Job

You will be an editor for a premier Minecraft ARG/Mystery channel (RetroGamingNow).

This is NOT the typical fast-paced Minecraft channel. Much of the content is analysis videos of stories told by others through Minecraft. Thus, it's extremely important that the editing team respects and understands the source material. Our analysis video should capture the pacing, mood, and vibe of the original story, amplified by our editing and scripting. You must be able to understand where to skip through and where to let things breathe in order to maximize the effective expression of the story.

Your primary purpose will be rough assembly: taking the raw footage and assembling a basic timeline. Qualified candidates may also be assigned more advanced editing tasks, but we are primarily looking for help on the assembly side.

You will also occasionally work on nonfiction projects, such as the Minecraft Iceberg series.

Other Information

Provide a portfolio of projects you've been involved in. If your portfolio does not contain any mysterious content you will not be considered for this position.

Finalists will be given a PAID test edit (pending a possible interview).

Job Requirements

• MUST be proficient in DaVinci Resolve
• MUST have proven experience in the mystery space
• MUST be over 18 years of age
• MUST be able to be paid in USD through PayPal
• MUST be proficient in English
• An understanding of the Minecraft ARG/webseries niche will fast-track your application. However, it is not strictly required.
