Job summary

Fives Intralogistics is seeking an Assembly Coordinator to organize picking and assembly for their automated sortation equipment. You will link Receiving, Inventory, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping, ensuring timely production with quality standards.

Strong verbal and written coordination with internal teams is essential. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support management on efficiency projects, and ensure tools and instructions are current.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) plus years’ experience in a production and/or assembly environment.
  • Three (3) plus years’ experience with major MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Information Systems.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings/prints, and procedures.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns production work orders and pick lists to a union workforce of Assemblers and Material Handlers.
  • Collaborates with the Production Coordinator to ensure all work performed is prioritized by customer requirement date.
  • Responsible for daily status updates of various tracking tools, e.g. picking schedule, assembly progress and completion schedule.
  • Facilitates repaint parts to be picked, prepped, and shipped to external suppliers.
  • Ensures Material Handlers and Assemblers have updated pick lists, prints/drawings, work instructions, and production work orders.
  • Responsible for following all Quality Assurance requirements and internal procedures.
  • Analyzes and supports workers in solving work problems.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve safety and increase efficiency.
  • Inspects work-in-process and finished products for adherence to customer requirements.

Position Summary

Assembly Coordinator will be responsible for organizing the picking and assembly operations of Fives automated sortation equipment. This role provides a crucial link between Receiving, Inventory, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping. The Assembly Coordinator will be focused on ensuring the Assembly team has the tools and support necessary to execute the production schedule in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. This role requires strong verbal and written skills to support coordination with the interdependent functions listed above and collaborate with other internal teams to resolve issues, as applicable. This person will participate with management on initiatives that will drive continuous improvement.
