Assembly Control Technician (TSA III)
Assist and support engineers and managers in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) at Applied Research Laboratories.
Responsibilities
- Inventorying, ordering, and tracking parts for NSW deliverable systems. This includes counting and organizing bulk items, requesting quotes by email and phone, submitting purchase orders, providing status updates to engineers and managers, data entry, processing shipping request, and other administrative tasking.
- Tracking, organizing, and ensuring all technical documentation and deliverable and non‑deliverable acceptance testing documentation is prepared and uploaded to the database. All deliverable documentation shall be formatted and prepared to a standard prior to government delivery. In addition, all deliverable items shall be photographed prior to shipment.
- Update red‑lined procedures and acceptance testing documentation. Update red‑lined technical drawings. Convert documents into digital forms using Adobe Acrobat.
- Support the technical staff in testing deliverable and non‑deliverable systems.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED.
- Two years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to follow written technical instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to read and explain technical drawings.
- Proficient with Windows and Linux Based Systems.
- Applicant must have a dynamic skill set, willing to work with new technologies, be highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks and managing their time.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member with and without daily supervision, work several overlapping projects over a short period of time, ability to work within an environment with rapidly changing priorities, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients. Able to work under pressure and accept supervision. Regular and punctual attendance.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree.
- Four or more years experience in administrative duties or technical writing.
- Experience in inventory management, inventory databases, and/or the ability to create a new database from scratch.
- Hands on mechanical or electrical skillsets including soldering, machining, and/or assembly work.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

Salary Range
$45,000 – $49,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
- Work in a shared integration lab, with access to machining equipment.
- Work in a production environment building assemblies that involve adhesives, potting compounds, solvents, and other hazardous materials.
- Occasional: work at the Lake Travis Test Station, interstate and intrastate travel.
- May work around electrical and mechanical hazards.
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift items weighing over 50 lbs.
- Some weekend, evening and holiday work.
