Assembly Control Technician (TSA III)

U.S. Citizen: Required. Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the appropriate level.
Purpose
Assist and support engineers and managers in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) at Applied Research Laboratories (ARL).
Responsibilities
- Inventory, order, and track parts for NSW deliverable systems; count and organize bulk items, request quotes by email and phone, submit purchase orders, and provide status updates to engineers and managers.
- Data entry and processing of shipping requests; perform other administrative tasking related to parts management.
- Track, organize, and ensure all technical documentation, deliverable and non‑deliverable acceptance testing documentation is prepared and uploaded to the database.
- Format all deliverable documentation to a standard prior to government delivery and photograph deliverable items before shipment.
- Update red‑lined procedures, acceptance testing documentation and technical drawings; convert documents into digital forms using Adobe Acrobat.
- Support technical staff in testing deliverable and non‑deliverable systems.
- Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- HS/GED
- Two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to follow written technical instructions and read and explain technical drawings
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux based systems
- Highly organized, capable of planning and coordinating multiple tasks, managing time, and working both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and maintain a professional demeanor
- Regular and punctual attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree
- Four or more years experience in administrative duties or technical writing
- Experience in inventory management, inventory databases, or creating a new database from scratch
- Hands‑on mechanical or electrical skillsets including soldering, machining, and/or assembly work
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
General Notes
Agency designated by the federal government handles the investigation for eligibility to access classified information. Factors include allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, criminal conduct, security violations, drug involvement, and likelihood of continued conduct.

Salary Range
$45,000 – $49,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
Working Conditions
- Work in a shared integration lab with access to machining equipment
- Operate in a production environment involving adhesives, potting compounds, solvents, and other hazardous materials
- Occasional work at the Lake Travis Test Station, interstate and intrastate travel
- May work around electrical and mechanical hazards
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift items weighing over 50 lbs
- Some weekend, evening, and holiday work required
