Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC in Torrance, CA is seeking an Assembler Technician I for 2nd shift. You will perform precision assembly, follow procedures, and adjust components per blueprints. You will use dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers to ensure accuracy and document work performed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills. FAA drug/alcohol testing applies. Onsite 2nd shift duties and a supportive team environment are provided.

  • Use measuring tools to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Document parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
  • Order parts via RUR and WDS systems and assist as needed.

Reporting To

Leader, Performance / Assembly and Test Supervisor

Work Schedule & Location

Onsite, Torrance, CA; 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)

Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
  • Technical aptitude
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems a plus
  • Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to work 2nd shift hours
Responsibilities
  • Perform precision assembly
  • Follow standard procedures to achieve day-to-day objectives
  • Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
  • Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices.
  • Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
  • Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
  • Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal.
  • Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
  • Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.

Salary

Salary Range Transparency: Torrance, CA $20.00-$29.00 Hourly Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
