Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking an Assembler Technician I for 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm). You will perform precision assembly under supervision and maintain dimensional accuracy with dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.

This onsite role reports to the Assembly and Test Supervisor in the Military Aircraft Group. The position requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred), basic computer skills, and FAA safety clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; able to understand and follow English instructions.
• FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Technical aptitude for mechanical tasks and reading blueprints.
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems is a plus.
• Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook) required.

Our team at Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is looking for anAssembler Technician I on 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) to join them. You will report to the Assembly and Test Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.

To be considered for theAssemblerI,here’s what you’ll typically need to bring with you:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA’s drug and alcohol testing program requirements
• Technical aptitude
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems a plus
• Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)

As anAssembler, you will:

• Perform precision assembly
• Follow standard procedures to achieve day-to-day objectives
• Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
• Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as: Dial indicators, calipers and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices. Required to work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
• Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
• Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and brings to the Supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal.
• Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
• Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems. Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $20.00–$29.00 Hourly
