Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems in New York State seeks an assembler to support floor operations and uphold lean manufacturing principles. The role involves maintaining production flow, using SAP to manage materials, and assembling diverse modules.

You will read technical drawings, work with hand tools, and perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of assemblies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of direct experience in manufacturing or assembly.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with hand tools.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and follow diagrams and blueprints for assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide floor support to assembly personnel to enable Just-In-Time lean manufacturing.
  • Utilize SAP and other systems to manage material, work orders, WIP and completed assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate production status and communicate Schedule issues to teams.
  • Ensure accuracy of WIP and floor stock inventory.
  • Implement Kanbans and Lean principles to improve material and product flow.
  • Perform assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical modules and subassemblies.
  • Read diagrams and drawings and use tools to assemble components.
  • Conduct quality inspections and continuity checks on processed items.
  • Disassemble or rework prototype assemblies as needed under specifications.

THE WORK
  • Provide floor support to all assembly personnel to create an environment of Just-In-Time lean manufacturing.
  • Utilize SAP and other computer systems to manage material, work orders, Work-In-Process and completed assemblies.
  • Maintain accurate production status by updating production status reports for assigned programs and communicating issues affecting schedule and production to supervisor, product manager, engineering, and other members of the Integrated Product Team.
  • Ensure and sustain accuracy of Work-In-Process and factory and floor stock inventory.
  • Implement Kanbans, Just-In-Time inventory, pull-lines or other unique systems associated with material management to enhance manufacturing flow. Utilize and implement Lean principles to ensure effective material and product flow.
  • Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
  • Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
  • Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
  • May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

You possess manufacturing knowledge, are adept at using hand tools, can proficiently read technical drawings to ensure an accurate and efficient assembly processes.

  • Able to interpret drawings and read work instructions required to assemble cable assemblies.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $35600.00 - $66000.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
