Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Assembly Technician for the RMS TLS Orlando location. You will perform electronic and electro-mechanical assembly tasks, using schematics and blueprints to construct developmental units and sub-assemblies.

The role involves test setup, calibration, and collaboration with engineering teams. Responsibilities include following procedures, ensuring quality, and supporting prototype testing.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 1 year hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks for development or preproduction.
• Works from schematics, blueprints, and oral instructions to assemble units and components.
• Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests following procedures and standards; calibrates equipment as required.
• Assists engineers in test procedure development and product improvements.
• May monitor and verify quality using statistical process controls.

THE WORK

• Performs a variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of specific production units, developmental or prototype requirements in product development, manufacturing engineering or preproduction operations where documentation and guidance may be limited.
• Works from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
• Uses standard electronic assembly tools and materials. May perform modifications, rework and quality testing. Work typically includes interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel.
• Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences; lays out and assembles units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications. Adjusts and calibrates systems as required; modifies electronic equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches.
• Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed.
• Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. Determines types of tests to be performed, approves and suggests modifications to testing equipment, and analyzes test results to evaluate performance of products and equipment.
• Assists engineers in design and development of test procedures for new products and recommends product improvements or manufacturing modifications.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

You will be supporting the Sub-Assembly Area for the RMS Orlando Location. Our team is composed of 12 assemblers with electrical and mechanical experience.

Basic Qualifications

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $41900.00 - $77700.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
