Job summary

Medtronic in Dexter, MI is seeking an assembler to support day-to-day production and packaging of components for medical devices in a clean room environment. The role requires adherence to safety, quality, and process controls, with PPE: eyewear, hair net, gowning.

The position is onsite five days a week, with cross-functional collaboration and opportunities for hands-on training in manufacturing best practices.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Ability to read and write in English to understand work instructions, safety protocols, and communicate effectively within the team.

Responsibilities

• You will be working in a clean room manufacturing environment that requires you to wear personal protective equipment including eyewear, hair net and protective gowning.
• Create and verify required coupon stacks for different bundle configurations
• Use scales and other measurement tools to confirm materials and components meet process and quality requirements
• Perform basic production transactions and maintain accurate production, material, and quality records using computer-based systems.
• Inspect components and in-process product for completeness, accuracy, dimensional conformance, and readiness for assembly
• Follow standard work instructions for kitting, material preparation, rotary die cutting, and material flow
• Support inventory accuracy by identifying and communicating material discrepancies to the appropriate team members
• Operate and monitor automated and semi-automated equipment used in fiber treatment and cutting operations.
• Monitor equipment performance and material flow to identify defects, process issues, or deviations.
• Escalate equipment concerns quality issues or process deviations to supervisors or support teams.
• Maintain compliance with safety, cleanliness and quality requirements
• Assist with routine setup, changeover, and basic troubleshooting as needed

Required Knowledge and Experience

3 years of experience required; comprehensive training will be provided. Ability to read and write in English in order to understand work instructions, safety protocols, and communicate effectively within the team.

Nice to Have

• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing
• Ability to complete written documentation in a clear, accurate, and legible manner
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
• Ability to work with small parts which may include microscopes
• Previous experience with assembly work
• Experience working in medical device manufacturing
• Background in automotive manufacturing or related industries
• Strong mathematical skills for measurement and quality checks
• Excellent hand dexterity for detailed assembly tasks
• Willingness and flexibility to support different production areas as needed
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers.
