Job summary

UFP Thornton, LLC is seeking an Assembler II to fabricate component parts or assemble finished products according to customer specifications. You will secure and manage parts and supplies such as plates, nails, staples, and fasteners to complete assemblies.

Responsibilities include setting up work areas, assembling parts to spec, operating presses and hand tools, and maintaining a safe, clean workplace. Candidates should have at least 6 months of assembly experience and basic math skills; 18+

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products.
  • 1 year of experience or more preferred.
  • Basic math skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work area setup.
  • Fit parts together in accordance with prescribed manner and quality standards.
  • Operate presses and machinery as well as hand tools to complete the assembly process.
  • Stack completed products and label/band components as needed.
  • Keep work area safe, clean and organized; ensure equipment is safe to operate.
  • Complete pre-shift startup equipment inspection and report problems.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Provide basic TPM to equipment and complete TPM paperwork when required.
  • Maintain production records as required.
  • Check materials and finished products for standards compliance.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures and participate in safety/CI programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Assembler II is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation including plates, nails, staples, fasteners, etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes work area setup
  • Fits parts together in accordance with the prescribed manner and in accordance with quality standards
  • Operates presses and machinery in addition to hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
  • Provides basic TPM to equipment and completes TPM paperwork when required
  • Maintains production records as required
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products is required; 1 year of experience or more is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Compensation & Benefit Information

Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 an hour dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
