Job summary

UFP Industries seeks an Assembler II to fabricate component parts or assemble the finished product according to customer specifications. You will secure and maintain correct component parts and supplies required for the operation, including plates, nails, staples, fasteners, and related items.

Your responsibilities include setting up the work area, fitting parts together to standard, operating presses and hand tools, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products; 1 year preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area setup.
  • Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed manner and quality standards.
  • Operates presses and machinery in addition to hand tools as required.
  • Stacks completed products and labels/bands components when required.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
  • Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products for standards compliance.
  • Performs duties consistent with safety and quality procedures and participates in safety/CI meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Assembler II is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation including plates, nails, staples, fasteners, etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes work area setup
  • Fits parts together in accordance with the prescribed manner and in accordance with quality standards
  • Operates presses and machinery in addition to hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label and band components/finished product
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift/startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
  • Provides basic TPM to equipment and completes TPM paperwork when required
  • Maintains production records as required
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience assembling components or specialty products is required; 1 year of experience or more is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
