Eaton Corporation in Reno, NV is seeking an Assembler I (2nd Shift) to perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts under supervision. The role requires standing for long periods, manual dexterity, and adherence to safety and PPE requirements.

You will pick, pack and pull orders, troubleshoot minor issues, and support Lean initiatives like 5S and Kaizen. This is a first step in a manufacturing career with Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division.

Job description

Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Assembler I (2nd Shift) - Seismic. The hourly rate for this position is $20.47 + .50 shift differential per hour.

CORE HOURS: 2:30PM - 11PM

What you’ll do:
  • Perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components.
  • May use bolts, screws, clips and other fastening devices.
  • Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams.
  • Pick, pack and pull orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Keeps work areas clean and safe.
  • Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
    • Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
    • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
    • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Additional Information:
Physical Demands:
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs with assistance.
  • Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas).
  • Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity.
  • Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
