Job summary

Eaton is hiring an Assembler I (1st Shift) - Seismic to assemble parts and components with simple repetitive bench work. You may use bolts, screws, and clips, and work from models or diagrams under close supervision. You will also pick, pack, and pull orders while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

We value adherence to Lean principles, 5-S, and visual management tools. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and relocation is not offered beyond 50 miles of the site.

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Assembler I (1st Shift) - Seismic. The hourly rate for this position is $20.47 per hour.

CORE HOURS: 6AM - 2:30PM.

What you’ll do:

• Perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components.
• May use bolts, screws, clips and other fastening devices.
• Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams.
• Pick, pack and pull orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
• Keeps work areas clean and safe.
• Supports all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to:
  • Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughoutthe facility, department, and area of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Physical Demands:

• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift more than 35 lbs with assistance.
• Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas).
• Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity.
• Exposure to cold/heat weather conditions while shipping doors are open.
• Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
