Job summary

Cleveland Gear Company is hiring for a 2nd Shift Assembler in Cleveland, OH. You will assemble gear reducers, gearboxes, and strainers according to work orders, test units for noises and leaks, and troubleshoot issues with engineering to ensure quality assembly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Familiarity with computer systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Previous assembly experience preferred.
• Mechanically inclined and hands-on.
• Reading, writing and basic math skills expected.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Standing for 8–10 hours per day required.

Responsibilities

• Assembles gearboxes/reducers and strainers per work orders.
• Checks work orders for accuracy and visually inspects parts.
• Tests units for noises and leaks; troubleshoots issues.
• Collaborates with engineering on assembly and modifications.
• Ensures final assembly and approval with engineering.

Summary:

Assembler is responsible for assembling gear reducers, gearboxes, strainers and other drive components per information on work order. The assembler is responsible for testing units and troubleshooting problems associated with Assembly.

Description:

• Assemble gearboxes/reducers and Strainers to work order instructions
• Check work orders for accuracy.
• Visually check parts for quality.
• Test units for audible noises and leaks.
• Rework and correct any noise or leakage problems.
• Troubleshoot with engineering in the assembly and modification of custom drives and develop solutions
• Responsible for final assembly and approval upon completion of assembly in conjunction with engineering.

Tools Used:

• Mechanic’s hand and power tools.
• Precision measuring instruments.
• Lubricants, fixtures, templates, etc
