Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking an Assembler I to construct truss, wall, and floor components and finished products per customer specifications.

The role ensures required parts and materials are secured for efficient workflow and performs routine quality checks for accuracy and production standards. The position emphasizes safe, clean manufacturing practices, adherence to safety procedures, and ability to work with hand tools for extended periods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • 6 months manufacturing/assembling experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Must stand for extended periods and have good hand‑eye coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Set up work area and assemble parts per instructions and quality standards.
  • Operate hand tools such as hammer, miter saw, and nail gun to complete assemblies.
  • Check parts and finished products for accuracy and quality; correct defects as needed.
  • Stack and label finished products; maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Perform pre-shift startup inspections and assist with end-of-shift cleanup.
  • Follow safety rules and participate in CI and other programs as assigned.

Job Summary/NIGHT/FLOORSThe Assembler I is responsible for constructing and framing truss, wall, or floor components, or assembling finished products in accordance with customer specifications. This role ensures all required parts, materials, and supplies are accurately obtained, secured, and maintained to support efficient workflow. Additionally, the Assembler I performs routine quality control checks to verify accuracy of measurements, proper assembly techniques, and compliance with production standards. The position also identifies and defects, reports inconsistencies, and contributes to maintaining a safe and clean, manufacturing environment.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesCompletes work area setupFits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standardsOperates hand tools, such as a hammer, miter saw, reciprocating saw, nail gun and tape measure as required to complete the assembly processStacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished productEnsures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operateCompletes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist, reports any problems or concerns and end of shift clean upMaintains a clean and orderly work environmentChecks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards.Makes necessary corrections to finished products that are found to be out of compliance with production or quality requirementsPerforms duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standardsParticipates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetingPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma/GED preferred but not requiredNo minimum experience is required however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferredWorking knowledge of basic mathThis role requires using a hammer for extended periods and requires good hand‑eye coordination.
